Air Conditioning Installation
What Does the SEER Rating of an AC System Mean?
If you have a central air conditioning system that is 10 years old or older, you are likely wasting money on energy bills. How do you know? Check the system’s SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating. The lower the SEER, the less energy efficient the unit.
Ten years ago, the national SEER standard was 10. The current national SEER standard is 14, and systems with a 14 SEER are 25% to 35% more efficient than the previous standard.
At Lochard, we offer high-efficiency air conditioning systems from 14 to 26 SEER!

What Type of Air Conditioners Do You Offer?
-
Single-Stage
A single-stage air conditioner operates at one speed all the time, full cold, and the thermostat controls the temperature in the house by turning the AC system and compressor on and off. From an efficiency standpoint, these are the least efficient.
-
Two-Stage / Multi-Stage
The two-stage/multi-stage air conditioner means the compressor has two levels of operation: high for the very hot summer days and low for milder summer days. The two-stage compressor is more efficient than the single-stage compressor and removes twice as much humidity as the single-stage system.
-
Variable-Speed
The variable-speed air conditioner is the quietest, most efficient offering. It operates at different speeds depending on the need for cooling. This allows the AC to cool your home at lower speeds for longer periods of time while still having the higher speeds available for when the outdoor temps get higher.
-
Ductless Mini Split
Ductless heating and cooling systems are highly efficient systems that deliver warm or cool conditioned air directly into different rooms in your home, without the use of ducts. You may also hear them called mini-split, multi-split or variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heat pumps or air conditioning systems. Mini splits are great for older homes, new additions, sun rooms, garages, etc:

Furnace Installation
What does the AFUE Rating of a Furnace Mean?
AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) is the ratio of the annual heat output of a furnace or boiler compared to the total fossil fuel energy consumed in a year. For example, a furnace rated at 80 AFUE means for every dollar you spend to heat your home, 80 cents is returned in heat and 20 cents is lost.
80 AFUE furnaces are affordable and good choices for a home. To get the maximum worth out of each dollar spent on gas, a 90-plus AFUE operating furnace is the best option available. Each dollar spent in turn brings 90 cents or more back in heat to your home.
What Type of Furnaces Do You Sell?

Single-Stage Furnace
This is the least expensive furnace and easiest to install, but lowest in energy efficiency. Single-stage means the furnace will use the same size of flame to produce heat regardless of the temperature outside or inside, meaning your utility bill will be higher to operate this type of furnace compared to others.
Two-Stage Furnace
This furnace has two stages of heat, a smaller size flame for those chilly days and a larger size flame for those frigid cold days. This allows the furnace to stay on longer while burning less gas. And because the furnace actually slows down, noise is also reduced. A two-stage furnace costs more initially but will save you on your monthly utility bills.
Variable Speed Furnace
Variable speed furnace does not actually refer to the furnace itself; it refers to the furnace’s blower motor. The blower motor operates at different speeds to precisely control the flow of heated and cooled air throughout your home, using less energy than standard blower motors and providing more consistent temperature control throughout the home.
Variable Capacity Furnace
The variable capacity furnace, also called the modulating gas furnace, goes beyond the two-stage furnace by only using the amount of fuel needed to maintain the desired temperature. The variable capacity furnaces are among the most energy-efficient furnaces and are rated above 98% efficiency.

Ductwork Services
Leaks in ductwork make the furnace or central air system work much harder, thus raising your utility bill, which can decrease your comfort and cause health and safety issues. At Lochard, we offer a large selection of ductwork services such as complete duct system replacements, duct blasting, repairing duct holes and sealing leaky ducts and duct joints. All new ductwork, including custom ductwork, is made in our own sheet metal fabrication facility, reducing costs and increasing quality.
HVAC PROTUNE Maintenance Plan
Just like your car, your heating and air conditioning system also requires an annual tune-up. By having your equipment cleaned and calibrated regularly, you can maximize your energy usage, keep your fuel bills to a minimum, prolong the life of your equipment and gain peace of mind that your equipment is operating safely.

PROTUNE Benefits:
- Two inspections within a 12-month period: one heating system inspection and one cooling system inspection
- No overtime charges on repairs done after hours
- Free diagnostic inspection ($79/$169 value)
- Indoor air quality test ($99 value)
